I arrived at work around 11:30 and was anxious to see what my day would be like. I was then greeted by Joan Roberts and handed my name tag and she gave me a tour. The store is exactly like what you picture on the TV show! They have 25 consultants and about 20 interns for this summer. I got to meet all of the interns and they are all so lovely! During the morning half of my day, I observed a lot of what appointments are like and what goes on at the location. Not only does Kleinfeld sell dresses, but they do alterations, headpieces, accessories, and shoes. And they have a men's store below. After that I had a hour break for lunch and then returned to find out that I had three clients I was going to be working on with my consultant, Ingrid. It was a blast, being able to get to know the bride and her personality was so fun! It is really cool to watch the consultants within five minutes know what kind of dress they think the bride wants and every time they are correct. All three brides of mine came very close to buying "their" wedding dress but never sealed the deal. It was a blast and time went by so fast! I am very excited for the weekend to come because that is when the store is super busy! Riding the subway to and from work was no problem, becuase all I have to do is get on one train and it goes all the way back and forth. I was alittle lost coming back from Kleinfeld's and I met this very nice social worker who lived near me, she helped me and was so nice!
Hope all is well

Hi Everyone! My adventure started way back in December when I was asked to fly out to New York City and meet with Kleinfeld's. I interviewed with Joan and she offered me the internship of my dreams, Working at Kleinfeld's Bridal, Say Yes to the Dress in Manhattan for the summer. I will be living at Columbia College in New York.I decided to create a blog for everyone to join me on my adventure this summer! I hope you enjoy! Happy Endings from NYC!

Arrived in NYC!
After a bumpy ride from MSP to LGA, I have arrived and I can not be more excited! Yesterday was extremely hard, especially leaving Nate but I am very happy because he was going to come visit soon! With two large suitcases, one duffel bag and one carry on, I have everything unpacked in my apartment at Columbia. Today, I did alot of walking to get random necessities- I even made my way to Harlem! There is a super nice organic grocery store right by my apartment so it is nice to get fresh fruit. It was about 85 degrees today and it was hot! My apartment is extremely nice with a large kitchen and lounge area. I did a lot of touring of Columbia, and it reminds me so much of a castle. My roommates have not arrived yet, one will be arriving today and the other two will be coming in the next two weeks. I start working at Kleinfeld's on Tuesday and I can not wait.
